SP 6 – Economy
SP6 -Economic assessment- aims at an integrated economic valuation of strategies for a sustainable use of the Itaparica reservoir and the landuse in the vicinity of the reservoir and on the scale of the river basin. For this purpose, the agriculturally dominated land use, the water use and their nexus are modelled on the basin and the reservoir scale and the impact of innovative cropping and cleanup measures are estimated on the basis of alternative land use scenarios. The impacts of the land use changes and the effects of the policy options are analyzed and evaluated economically at the reservoir level. As a result, the integration of the assessment in a cost benefit analysis is pursued.
