SP 5 - Socio economic valuation DSS

Subproject 5 (SP5) comprises the socio-economic assessment of the hydrological and ecological research performed in SP 2-4. Thus, the overall objective of SP5 is to investigate the socio-economic aspects of water management and land management (including the peri-urban areas), investigate stakeholder perceptions on water management and land management, and provide a decision support system (DSS) as a planning tool to the local decision makers and stakeholders. The decision support system will integrate stakeholder perspectives in its multi-criteria optimization algorithm that allows to evaluate the various scenarios of the future that will be generated based on scientific and stakeholder knowledge. In SP5 trade offs and synergies between preservation (or improvement) of ESS/ESF and alternative goals of land use will be evaluated.
