SP 6 - Carbon stocks and biodiversity in non-arable Ecosystems
SP 6 will assess carbon stocks and abiotic site conditions, vegetation and plant diversity, and the faunal diversity in grassland, mire and forest ecosystems. These data will be related to ecological marginal conditions and intensities in land use allowing projections of the future development of ecosystem services and values under different scenarios of climate and land-use change. As a final result, a weighted list of the functional value of non-arable ecosystems will be related to societal needs and constraints. This contributes to a decision maker guidance in sustainable land management, which can be used by local and regional stakeholders.
